ogggg shhhh!

Sometimes Peyton acts like he is growing out of the whole nap thing. I know he is only almost two, but once in a while he is impossible to get down for a nap. So, one day I thought I am not going to fight him to take a nap. I am just going to keep him awake. This is how well my plan worked. He finally couldn't keep his eyes open anymore. About the time 6pm rolled around he was out!

Chicken nuggets?

I went to the drive up at the bank yesteday. The teller said Hi, how are you? And Peyton yells from the back seat, "Get me chicken nuggets!" It was so funny! I just busted up laughing. I said buddy we are at the bank, the best I can do is a sucker! We hardly ever eat fast food and the fact that he remembers and knows to say that just cracks me up. Anyway, he got the sucker and was still disappointed! He didn't really like it and gave it back to me. I guess I will have treat him to some chicken nuggets in the near future!

He is so adorable, I just love him and can't wait to go see him. Some of you may have already met him on Tim and Mara's blog. I just had to put him and mine as well, to WELCOME him. Also a big CONGRATULATIONS to Tim and Mara for being parents! YAY!

Poor guy!

This is a pic. of Peyton last week when he wasn't feeling so great! He had a fever and kept telling me his ears hurt. He was mostly pulling on his left ear. This all started like on Mon. and he just got worse, so Wed. I took him to the doc. He said that he just had the common cold and to bring his car seat in and put it in his crib and strap him in it to sleep upright. I was like, okay.... Jake and I laughed when we got home. Yeah, like that is gonna work. Peyton hardly even sleeps in his seat when he's in the car. I can't even imagine trying that. Anyway, Peyton just got even worse by Thur. I could barely keep the temp. under control with baths and motrin. He would be trying to play and he would just stop and let out a cry and grab his left ear and tell me his ears hurt. So that night I took him back to the ped. and we saw a dif. doc. When he was looking in Peytons ears he said "What's in your ears?" Peyton said, "crackers and cereal." then the doc. said that he didn't see any crackers or cereal, but he has an ear infect. REALLY?? On the outside on the canal and it could be infected down in the canal too. But, he didn't want to tramatize Peyton by trying to get a better look when he knew he needed an antibiotic anyway. He seemed like a great doc. and he didn't charge me for the appt. because I was just there the night before. Now that we got the antibiotic in him he is doing much better! I don't know about these doc. sometimes, and we trust them with our kids. It is scary! I am very thankful for seeing the 2nd doc. though!

Safety tips

Peyton was being really quiet, so I went to check on him and he was in his closet reading books. I went in the kitchen and wiped down the counters, then went to check on him again. As I was heading down the hall I saw him in the bathroom cleaning his ear with a q-tip (a safety q-tip, that is). When he saw me coming he threw the q-tip in the toilet and when I went in the bathroom this is what I found. This is what happens if you forget to close the bathroom doors behind you and have an almost two year old living with you.

big boy!

Sunday was Peytons first day going in the Nursery. Peyton is used to being an only child and he is very attached to Jake and I. If we are around other children he is usually scared of them and runs to me saying "hold you mama". Then after a while he will be okay on the floor with them but he keeps his eyes on me and plays by himself. I thought that he would be terrified of nursery and cry. Boy was I wrong! I sat in there for about the first 10-15 minutes with him and then I snuck out. I came back about another 15 minutes later and peeked in on him. He had a little red phone up to his ear and was saying "hello grandma". I thought wow he isn't even crying. I went to get him after church was over and when I walked in he said "HI" all excited. I said " Hey buddy are you ready to go?" and Peyton told me "No, wanna stay here." He seemed to have loved it! He told me all about it! He gave me a picture that he colored and he told me that they had toys and bubbles! I can't believe he is getting so big! He kept telling me the rest of the day Sunday that he wanted to go to nursery. I had to keep telling him he can go back but he has to wait until next week. We'll just see how it goes next time! I hope he will have just as much fun.
